Becoming a Foster Parent

It doesn’t take a special person to be a foster parent, just a willing one.

Children entering into the foster care system are in a world of darkness. They may be scared, angry, hurt, or confused. There is a good chance they will be experiencing all of those things. We need families who are willing to be light to these children. These families will provide safety, support, comfort, and most importantly, love to these hurting children.

Our commitment is to be light to our foster families as well; to train, prepare, and guide you through the challenges that come with the system. We want to share in your celebrations as a foster family, and yes, also in your times of loss and frustration. In other words, we not only want foster children to be cared for, but our foster families, too. While we ask you to take on the challenges you will face as a foster parent, we promise that you will not take them on alone. In addition to the support you will receive from the entire Kaleo team, your family will be given a Kaleo Case Worker to be there for you when needed. Our hope is that your Case Worker will become an extension of your family.
