Our Statement of Beliefs

Kaleo Family Services is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing organization. Our fundamental beliefs are from God’s Word, the Bible. These core beliefs are the roots of what we do.

About God

We believe in one eternal living God who is sovereign over everything and exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Colossians 1:15-20)

About Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, came in the flesh through the virgin birth, and lived a sinless life so that righteousness would be found in Him only. He worked through miracles and fulfilled God’s law found in the Old Testament. He was crucified for our sin and resurrected for our salvation. And we believe He will return again to claim His Church and judge the world. (Matthew 1:23; Matthew 28:5-6; John 1:1-4; Acts 2:22-24; Romans 8:34, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 4:15; Revelation 1:17-18)

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of God in the Trinity and is the seal of promise for those who hope in Christ. He draws us to Jesus, He guides our walk of faith as our helper, and He intercedes for us with the Father. (John 3:5-8; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:31; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 1-13-14)

About Scripture

We believe that Holy Scripture is the inspired word of God and was written by men who were driven by the Spirit of God. We believe the Bible is without error. (Matthew 4:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

About Humanity

We believe that God created human beings in His own image and, as a result, all people should be treated with love, respect, and dignity as His image bearers. However, the fall of mankind through sin has separated us from relationship with God and we cannot come to Him on our own apart from Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 7:12; Matthew 22:39; Philippians 2:3; James 3:9-10; 1 John 4:20-21)

About Salvation

Salvation is only found in the work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. Those who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sin will receive salvation. (Luke 24:46-47; John 6:44; John 14:6; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-22; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 1:7, Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-7)

About Eternity

God created mankind to be in relationship with Him for eternity. Disobedience through sin separated us from Him. However, through the work of Jesus, we can again have an eternal relationship with God as He has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus. Those who remain in disobedience will remain separated from Him for eternity. (Matthew 25:46; Luke 10:20; John 5:24; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:53-57)

About the Church

The Church is the Bride of Christ and also the Body of Christ. As His Bride, Christ loves us and gave Himself for us. As the Body, He is the head and is over the body, and we are to continue in His work by bringing news of salvation to the world and by being servants to those in need, as He came to serve and not be served. (Matthew 16:18; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

About Obedient Christianity

Those who belong to Jesus Christ have died to themselves and live according to His will, not their own. They live in submission to His lordship, maturing into His likeness. Those in Christ do not live in rebellion, like those who are still of the world, but live in obedience to His word. (Matthew 10:38; Luke 9:23; John 3:30; John 14:15; John 15:4-6; Romans 12:1; Romans 13:14; Galatians 2:20-21; Galatians 5:24)

About Sexuality, Marriage and Family

We believe that God designed human sexuality to be found only inside the sacred relationship of a monogamous marriage between one man and one woman. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5; 1 Timothy 1:10; Hebrews 13:4)

About Caring for Orphans

We believe that caring for orphans, or in today’s world – foster children, is a fundamental responsibility of the Church. It is more than the mere calling of a few, but is commanded to be the work of many. We believe these children should be in the homes of those who love Jesus in a Biblical way so they can experience the love of Jesus themselves. (Matthew 25:40; John 15:13; Philippians 2:4; James 1:22; James 1:27; James 2:14-17; 1 John 3:16-18)
